It’s been a long week here. My daughter Maddie hasn’t been sleeping well and has been extra clingy — I suspect she may be starting to teethe.
After a week like that, mama needs a cocktail. This Strawberry Lemonade Sangria is perfect for spring and summer: light, refreshing, and dangerously easy to drink. I made a double batch for Maddie’s baptism party and the adults loved it — it disappeared fast.

One note: this version is a bit boozier than some sangrias. The strawberry flavor really comes through when you use strawberry vodka. If you prefer a lighter drink, reduce the vodka or add more lemon-lime soda to dilute it. For sweetness, I don’t usually add simple syrup, but you can if you like a sweeter sangria. I’ve made this with both Moscato and Sauvignon Blanc — Moscato will yield a sweeter result, so choose based on your taste. Sangria is forgiving, so feel free to adjust ingredient ratios until it’s just right for you.
Here’s to the weekend and warmer weather!

Strawberry Lemonade Sangria — a refreshing cocktail made with white wine, strawberry vodka, and lemon-lime soda. Ideal for gatherings and warm evenings.
Ingredients
- 1 bottle (750 ml) white wine (Moscato or Sauvignon Blanc)
- 1 cup strawberry vodka
- 1/2 cup triple sec
- 4 cups lemon-lime soda (add more to taste)
- 1 lemon, juiced
- Simple syrup to taste (optional)
- 1 pint fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 2 lemons, sliced* (see note)
Instructions
- In a large pitcher or drink dispenser, combine the wine, strawberry vodka, triple sec, lemon-lime soda, and lemon juice. Stir to blend. Add simple syrup if you prefer a sweeter drink. Stir in sliced strawberries and lemon slices. Chill for 1–2 hours before serving. If preparing well in advance, wait to add the lemon slices until just before serving to avoid bitterness.
Notes
To make simple syrup: combine equal parts water and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool. Add to the sangria to taste.
Avoid soaking citrus for too long, as this can make the drink bitter. If you won’t serve the sangria within a few hours, add lemon slices just before serving.
