Over the weekend I had the immense privilege of watching my daughter get baptized. After witnessing such a proud moment, the celebration with friends and family was the perfect way to mark the day.
I chose a purple and silver color theme for the reception. Below is a look at the dessert and snack table I put together to match that palette.
Coordinating food with a party’s color scheme is one of my favorite touches. I’ll share recipes in the days to come, but here’s a breakdown of what appeared on the table.
Dessert and Snack Table
First up was a Swiss cake roll filled with a cream cheese, powdered sugar and Cool Whip mixture—simple, elegant and delicious.

I also served spritz cookies dusted with edible glitter and colored with violet Wilton icing color.

Classic sugar cookies were decorated with an almond-flavored decorator frosting, tinted the same violet shade to stay on theme.

Rice Krispie bars were dipped in chocolate and presented on sticks—because everything looks better on a stick.

For a sweet-and-salty option I offered cinnamon sugar glazed nuts and chocolate-covered pretzels, along with cake-batter popcorn for a fun bite.

The centerpiece of the table was a tower of cupcakes topped with buttercream frosting and a handmade chocolate cross. I had planned purple velvet cupcakes to match the theme, but my daughter requested boxed strawberry cupcakes—her day, her choice.

Decorations
One of the focal pieces was a simple plaque made from a paper plate. I printed a verse about baptism, mounted it on matching purple cardstock and glued it to the plate for an inexpensive, meaningful decoration.

Fresh flowers always enhance a table. I repurposed saved bottles—one was a Starbucks frappuccino bottle—painted them metallic silver and added curly ribbon for quick, budget-friendly vases.

Tables
I used a simple white tablecloth with purple fabric runners. Multiple arrangements of purple daisies in silver votives lined the center of each table runner for cohesive color and texture.

Place settings included silver chargers, white plates, and silverware wrapped in purple napkins with a DIY silver “bling” napkin ring.

It was a beautiful day spent with friends and family, celebrating a meaningful milestone in our daughter’s life.
