Saturday Seed Planting Guide: What to Sow on Saturdays

It’s the weekend — yay! Any plans? We’re tackling a few home projects, heading to church tonight, and spending plenty of time outside to soak up the beautiful warm weather.

That little jokester in the photo makes shopping with a toddler both challenging and entertaining. It’s tiring at times, but he keeps things lively.

Here’s what we did this week, besides shopping:

This Week On Seeded at the Table:
This section highlights recent recipes and blog updates.

You may have heard that Google Reader is shutting down on July 1st. If you currently use it to follow the blog, consider moving to another reader soon. Several bloggers have useful guides comparing alternatives and explaining how to migrate your subscriptions.

Now, on to this week’s recipes:

Grilled Cheese Panini on Pretzel Bread — Classic grilled cheese elevated on hearty pretzel bread.

Nutella Peanut Butter Chewies — Crispy at the edges, chewy in the middle, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious.

Loving Lately:
Favorites and little discoveries from across the web and around the house.

Owl Mouse Pad — I recently bought this cute round mouse pad from a small Etsy shop and added a matching coaster. It brightens my workspace and adds a touch of fun. It’s available in round and rectangular shapes depending on your preference.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer (Brightener) — This concealer has been a staple for me. It helps hide dark circles and gives the under-eye area a brighter, more refreshed look. A quick application with a little bronzer and eye makeup gets me out the door looking awake.

Magnetic Ironing Mat — I’ve been thinking about alternatives to a traditional ironing board. They take up space and can be noisy to open. A magnetic ironing mat seems like a practical space-saving option for occasional use. Has anyone tried one?

My Life as a Professor’s Wife, Mom, Christian and Food Blogger:
Snapshots from family life, faith, and the everyday moments I like to record.

For Judah’s second birthday, my parents gave him a Melissa & Doug art easel. We only recently set it up after moving and shifting through a busy year, and he absolutely loves it. This week we painted the letters of his name together. He added his own creative touches — a few extra letters and unexpected shapes — and his version of some letters had us laughing. He especially enjoyed painting the “H.”

Ben’s finger has healed enough for him to dive back into home projects, and he’s been amazingly productive. Since recovering he’s painted the garage, built a workshop corner, finished and painted Judah’s loft bed, assembled the nursery crib, hung curtains, power-washed outdoor surfaces, built a faux tabletop prop, and more. He’s also taken turns watching Judah so I can work. I’m incredibly grateful for his hands-on help and support.

The week’s highlight was Ben’s spring break — we drove up to Nashville to visit some of my closest college friends. Nashville is one of our favorite destinations, and we made the most of the trip. We ate at a few memorable spots (I’ll share details in a future post) and my best friend took some beautiful maternity and family photos for us. I can’t wait to see the edited images.

Enjoy your weekend!
